Jennifer Jones currently serves as the Director of the Change in Mind Institute and the Co-Director of the Safety and Resilience Impact Area at the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities. The Change in Mind Institute aims to advance a common understanding of the core story of brain development and integrate this knowledge into the social and public services sectors. Jennifer leads the development, management, and promotion of the Institute, including establishing the vision, content and related projects.
Jennifer consults and advises organizations on brain science, child welfare, and child and family well-being issues, and social determinants of health. Jennifer provides national thought leadership, consultation and technical assistance to the nonprofit sector on child welfare policy and systems change. Jennifer works closely with the Alliance policy team, other national organizations and congressional representatives to advance brain science infused policy and trauma-informed care legislation. Prior to her positions with the Alliance, Jennifer served as the Associate Director of the Wisconsin Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) and led the agency’s efforts on Adverse Childhood Experiences. Jennifer was also responsible for CTF’s strategic planning, public policy, and communications efforts. For her last two years at the agency, Jennifer served as Interim Executive Director, at the Board’s request, and coordinated all activities related to the Governor-appointed Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board, including supervising staff, managing all operations, and overseeing the agency’s budget and grantmaking functions. Jennifer received her bachelor’s in social work from Marquette University and her master’s in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. |
